You were lucky.....most get run over. This is an ongoing problem with our cars, sadly they are just held on by industrial double face tape.

Had the same issue with my 2006, it had a coolant leak tech found the leak at a tee fitting over the radiator and soon as he touched it.....it exploded and sent coolant all over the place and him, he replaced it with a brass fitting.

Did you make sure the trunk partition was in the correct position and secure?

It is time for a new battery and invest in a trickle charger also, for those extended non-driving periods.

Have you checked you battery, our cars do strange things when the battery is dead or very low.

I think they where made by E&G Classics for GM and where made for the XLR-V. From what I under stand they can be mounted on a base XLR but you will the adaptive cruise control, not sure where you can find one.
