Button is working ok, then it sounds like the interior open button, that you push to activate, to open the door may be getting bad and not always working.

I been dealing with the trunk, not closing at the end of cycle too. But never had the trunk problem you are describing. Just had my to the dealer for other things and of course the top works perfectly for them, got it back last week and been working fine for now! They had to change out the trunk...
Keep in mind, my XLR is a 2005 base model. Fireduck’s I believe is 2007 XLR-V and I believe the Lowering Bolt are different size, and all 4 of mine was the same size.

Just my 2 cents! You should find a Cadillac Dealership that works on XLR’s they would have a Tech2 Code Reader and the knowledge to troubleshoot you top issues! My 05 is at the Dealership right getting a bunch of things done! At the end of top cycle, up or down, the trunk lid don’t always close...
Welcome to the XLR forum from PA on the Eastside Coast! I’m in the process of installing for the 2nd time of replacement shocks on our 2005 and since the backs were just installed about 2 years ago (@ about 20k miles of use) and leaky already, I’m doing the switch out to regular Bilstine Shocks...
My interior trunk lights are not working, so when I take it to the dealer I want to right bulbs back in! I have LEDS in now. Thanks Cubby
