Condition/Concern

Some customers may comment on any of the following conditions:

  • MIL illuminated, DTC P0796 is found as an active or a history code in the TCM
  • Slip or no fourth gear
  • Slip or no fifth gear
  • Slip or no sixth gear
Recommendation/Instructions

If the 4-5-6 clutch is found to be distressed, be sure to disassemble and inspect the pump for possible damage.

Inspect for any of the following conditions:

  • Scored pump rotor or pump vanes
  • Scored pump cover or pump rotor pocket
  • Cracked pump slide

Failure to disassemble and inspect the pump may cause repeat distress to the 4-5-6 clutches.
