I tried myself but couldn't get it to work. I needed the key anyway so took mine to reputable key place. Finally had to go to gm dealership where they can supply key codes at no charge. Returned to key making service and they made new key,s and program fob in timely fashion . About 65.00 dollars
You have to use allen wrench supplied and reach under top place tool in the release and turn to open and it will drop onto that greasy post then lock onto it . It secure the top in place.
Transmission cable came off. Had transmission shop I use all the time put a repair fastener on , it came off again. I did it myself next time and used a spring clip that slides in the indent. Hasn't come loose again and has been over a year to date.
