I'd say though, if the rear shocks are blown-out, one might consider just about any version (Mickey's suggestion at the top of the list), as at least then you have working shocks be they a little soft or hard. I wonder if anyone just driving normally could...
I tried the door switch for fun - I do recall looking at the door and the trunk switches together and could have sworn they were the same.... anyway, here's a most curious result which might be worth the buy if for nothing more than gaining knowledge...

I do believe the modules must be programmed when replaced. I looked through faults for both driver's and passenger's modules and ultimately they both say if replaced, reprogram.
Maybe try your original again just to make sure you don't have a bad connection somewhere. Not that the test...
