For Sale SOLD - 07 XLR V in Xenon Blue

Mickey, I will check out BaT more later. I get emails everyday as I have been a BaT member for like 5 years. I do see quite a few V's come across there, as well as Base ones. Yes, miles make a BIG difference in both, lower miles mean more $$ With my Base XLR having 53K, everything works well...

For Sale SOLD - 07 XLR V in Xenon Blue

Mikey, Thanks for your info and insight. I will pass the info along about the headlights & visors I will pass this along to the person that has the used one I looked at the other week. Maybe they can fix that stuff before they sell it. I believe you are off a bit on used prices for Base vs...

For Sale SOLD - 07 XLR V in Xenon Blue

Mickey, Thanks for additional information! Good to know about the visor kits. If I still had access to my Home Equity Loan at the old interest rates (like 3-5%), I would be going for a V soon, but at 8-9% now on new loan now, that is steep! The Blue one that Ghawk has for sale looks really nice...

For Sale SOLD - 07 XLR V in Xenon Blue

MPRCTCL, Thanks for your reply info. Did not realize that 2006 was first year for the steerable headlamps, but makes sense now. Seems like 2006 was the start of quite a few differences in these. I did not check to see if GM even still makes the visor mirrors or assembles. Maybe same as a C6 Vette?

For Sale SOLD - 07 XLR V in Xenon Blue

Gary, Thanks for your honest replies! I worked in Traverse City a few times, and also outside of Detroit. I have family relatives in PawPaw. If I had extra $$, I would be asking you for more info on the car! Just saw the interior on yours is the Cashmere, which is nice combo with the Blue...

For Sale SOLD - 07 XLR V in Xenon Blue

MPRCTCL, Thanks for your insite. Yes, parts for all these XLR's seem to be the challenge. So far, I have not had any issues with mine, and hopefully will stay that way. I just looked at and drove a 2006 V while i am working in MD this week. Drove very nice and was not "harsher ride" than my 2005...

For Sale SOLD - 07 XLR V in Xenon Blue

Gary, Thanks for your info, sounds like it has been a good one for you. Seems like there are good XLR's and troublesome XLR's based on what I have looked at and read in this forum. I have 4 vehicles myself, but always liked the V XLR's, just have to decide if I want to pursue one or not. Wife...

For Sale SOLD - 07 XLR V in Xenon Blue

Gary, Color is very nice, and looks to be in very good shape and price is reasonable. What is your reason for selling? Have you had any major issues with it in the time you have owned it? Wondering if the V models are any more prone to issues vs the Base models? I am contemplating stepping up...

jkwoodrow, The XLR is a lot easier to get in and out of than a Vette. They ride a bit more smoothly too, but they are not intended to be as sporty as the Vette, but more luxurious. We have a 2002 Vette and the 2005 XLR, my wife is 72 and does not have any issues getting in and out of either. she...

Leather Seat Dyeing and/or Repro covers

Rexster, Thanks again for info! The seats in my XLR are the same, no cracks, just the usual "wear wrinkles", and is Shale, so shows much more than Black. Was suggested to me by a dealer to dye the seats, to make them look better. Would help with a future trade if I would ever do that. Did you...

Leather Seat Dyeing and/or Repro covers

Rexster, Thanks for additional information. I am thinking using the Seat Dr's dye would be best to start with. Did you dye them in the car then? And how did the dye hold up for you? I would think it should hold up well if the car is not driven daily.

Leather Seat Dyeing and/or Repro covers

Rexster, Thanks for the info! Good you are close by to Richmond in TX ! I will have to give Richmond a call soon. Biggest thing for me to think about would be if I can change the covers myself or not. Another forum member said he did, and it was not so easy, and needed an electric stapler...

Leather Seat Dyeing and/or Repro covers

They have bottoms and backs for both sides. Will add up to about $1500 for all 4 panels. Also been looking at "Seat Doctors", which has Leather Dyes in all colors. My seats are not that bad but would like much nicer if re-dyed or new replacement covers. Adding another $1500 plus paying a shop...
