I recently purchased the ESCORT Passport 9500iX radar detector with built-in GPS. It is probably one the best radar detectors there is on the market. It not only detects radar or laser early, it also has a built-in database of all the fix mount speed traps and traffic light cameras (nationwide). The best feature though is the GPS assisted automatic lock-out of these annoying false alarms from doors, banks, malls... It detects them and if you pass by more than 3 times it automatically learns it and locks it out! I mounted mine into the XLR under the rearview mirror using the BlendMount holder - just clicks onto the XLR mirror mount (see picture). Power is provided by the rearview mirror - tapping into the mirror power connector with the MirrorTap power cable solution (see picture). Great cable solution - Perfect length! XLR connector pins: Ground = 8 (black) and ignition on +12V = 13 (black/red)
The whole setup looks great - no cables over the dash too!
