    replacing roof tonneau cover actuator

Thanks for the link CC. Is your set 3 volumes or 4? I see both on eBay ads. Next question ... where is the best place to buy a Tech 2 scanner? A quick search found these, which I think are in China...

    replacing roof tonneau cover actuator

CC, where do you suggest I order a shop manual for my 2008 XLR-V? I've been having the odd hickup with my top not going back up lately and would like to try and troubleshoot it myself. Cheers, Bill

Video: 2008 Cadillac XLR Godfather Roadster

I'm just glad they didn't destroy a V in the making of that mess.

LED lamp upgrades for passenger cabin.

Lucky, I've done my entire interior, trunk and license plate also. The reverse lights look very yellow now and I want to switch them to LEDs also. As I recall it was easy to do the license plate, but seemed like a lot of work to get at the reverse lights. If someone has done them, I also would...

LED lamp upgrades for passenger cabin.

Well you guys with '06's are lucky ... I don't even have a harness going under the hood to plug one in. Maybe Caddy figured they could shave $20 off their factory costs ... and hell, with such high production volumes of XLR-Vs, this could save GM a small fortune! :dunno:

CC, do you have an under-hood light in your XLR? My XLR-V had no hood light !! No idea why a 6 figure car has no light under the hood. Maybe just the non-V models got lights? This is crazy. Bill

how many XLR`s are on the road

The city where I live in Ontario, Canada has 1 ... a deep red XLR (not a V). Mine is the only V in the area that I know of. There are a couple other XLRs for sale at dealers in Toronto, but in the past 2 years, I've only seen 1 (besides mine) on the road. Extremely rare here. Bill

How to Mod the 12v Power Plug to always on?

Trouble is that OnStar is a little hard to put in your pocket when you get out of the car. I don't need to take the phone with me much, but when I do, I'd prefer not to have to carry a 3,800 lb one! :blinzel:

How to Mod the 12v Power Plug to always on?

You are right about that Cubby ... I probably use it for 10 outbound calls/month, and a few inbound ones ... mostly from my wife wondering why I'm not home yet  I hate carrying them in my pocket, that's why they are always left (95% of the time) in the car. When I store the XLR in the...

How to Mod the 12v Power Plug to always on?

Well you likely know more than me on this. I am just going from my own personal experience with a cell charger always on in all my other cars. In my 06 SRX for example, it's been charging a phone (always turned on) continuously for over 4 years and I've never had the car battery go dead, even...

LED lamp upgrades for passenger cabin.

CC, I'm just getting round to switching out mine to LEDs. You provided the part number here for license and map lights. Can you provide the other part numbers you used to help us (me) order the correct ones? For example, is p/n 194_6F_W the right number for under dash? And is p/n 194_13_SMT_W...

How to Mod the 12v Power Plug to always on?

I'm hoping someone here can tell me how to change the 12v power plug inside the armrest console so that it always stays live. I keep my cell phone in the car most of the time and plugged in so the battery stays topped up. The problem is that that power plug is only on when the car is running ...

    Help! GPS system

Thanks, I realized that after reading again. So my next question is, where did you put the switch on you XLR? Can you post a pic? Also, how on earth did you get at the back of your Nav unit? The instructions are for a Vette which is quite different than our XLRs. Cheers, Bill
